What you can expect from the therapy / counselling process
I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term therapy. In either case, we will usually have an initial phone conversation during which we will discover if we feel reasonably comfortable with each other. If this is the case, we will arrange and meet for a first session. In that meeting I will ask you about your current circumstances and take some details of your history.
At the end of this first appointment, if you wish to see me again and I feel that I am able to help you, I will suggest that you commit to a further five meetings. During these sessions we will explore your circumstances and your feelings. You may start to bring about changes in your life, your relationship with yourself and with others.
Towards the end of the six sessions we will review their usefulness to you and whether you would like to continue to see me. If that is the case, we can agree a plan that is most helpful to you and your situation.
